Richard Smith, a native of England, is a renowned fingerstyle guitarist based in Nashville, known for blending country, jazz, and classical influences. A former child prodigy who played with Chet Atkins at age 11, he moved to Nashville in 2000, won the 2001 National Fingerstyle Championship, and is a celebrated performer and educator. 



• Background: Born in Kent, England, he started playing at age 5.

• Style & Technique: Often compared to Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, and Jerry Reed, he is known for playing "virtuoso" fingerstyle, often covering complex arrangements of jazz standards, classical pieces, and pop tunes.

• Achievements:

2001: Won the National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship in Winfield, Kansas.
